Hello! I’m a Boston-born writer now splitting time between the Pacific Northwest and New England. Most recently, I wrote and edited longform stories as the features editor for Seattle Met, Portland Monthly, and Houstonia magazines. My work there won National City and Regional Magazine Association and Society of Professional Journalists Northwest awards.

Before uprooting to the Pacific Northwest, I lived in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, where I covered arts and entertainment for The Berkshire Eagle, UpCountry Magazine, and Art New England. More recently, I was a contributing writer for Wildsam’s Boston field guide. I graduated from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in 2017 and the University of Michigan’s Honors English program in 2013.

In my free time, I write fiction, surf waves, and hike mountains. You can reach me at benjamincassidywriter@gmail.com.
